Chilean mussels occupy an important place in our procurement matrix.
We systematically increase the share of “Moreodor” in the Russian market: during the first 6 months of 2017, we imported 440 tons of mussels, which is 14% of the total imports of mussels to Russia. Our volume for 2016 amounted to 529 tons of mussel meat, 9% of total imports.
The main sizes of mussels are 100-200, 200-300, 300-500. We also buy whole mussels and mussels on the halves of the shells.
Thanks to partner relations with Orizon, Sudmaris, Toralla and Camanchaca, we supply our Russian customers with mussels all the year round, without a seasonal break.
As it is known, Chile is the No. 1 exporter of mussels, where the cultivation of mussels was organized according to the Spanish model in the early 2000s.
The total volume of production in live weight is 290,000 tons for 2016.
Mussel farms in Chile are located around the Chiloe archipelago in the south of the country, far from industrial centers and associated water pollution.
Each batch of mussels for “Moreodor” is strictly selected by quality before shipment and is checked additionally with the help of an independent inspector.
